By now, likely you have been bombarded by media ads, advocating the attendance of a marine theme park. I urge you not to waste your precious dollars ...
First, the dolphin who you THINK you saw last year most likely has been replaced by a new captive, named the same name. This gives visitors the feeling that year after year, they come to see the same, happy animals, willfully entertaining a paying and adoring public.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Take DUKE, for instance. He lived a good portion of his life in a "warehouse," cut-off from fresh air and sunlight. Then there was Doobie, Skipper, Nemo ...the list is virtually endless. All these marine mammals share something in common: they were forcibly removed from the wild and prodded to perform in sterile tanks so that marine park owners can profit from their helplessness; their victimization.
They suffer in silence; they are replaced in secrecy.
Make an informed choice. Don't buy a ticket.

We never take our family to Marineland. The smell of death if all around. The animals aren't happy. The "vibe" is very frightening.
Many years ago I went to SeaWorld's dolphin petting tank. It was disgusting. The poor animals' eyes were all shut (probably from chlorine.) I felt abusive, touching them. I never went again. Spent my money on other things.
